Remote working eligibility checks

In addition, depending on the location of the position, job applicants may need to prove that they are eligible to work in certain countries. The employer should request that the candidate or hired individual present proper documentation to check their eligibility.

For example, for a permanent role in the UK, the hired individual needs to have a valid right to work in the country. Specialist local advice may be needed on taxation in both the employee’s and the employer’s registered country. British nationals can find more guidance on the Foreign Travel Advice section of the UK Government website.
