We have a brand new and unique opportunity for qualified or almost qualified Actuary to join our Research and Development Division. This is an initial 12-month contract with strong intent to become permanent for the successful candidate.
This is not your traditional Actuary role as you will be working with the business to define how our future products and fees are calculated and presented to the business.
The role will include a combination of supporting other actuaries within the team and independent working, developing into a role requiring increased leadership over time with specific responsibilities for legacy products that are closed to new business.
Who we are looking for:
A highly technical person who is numerate and enjoys the manipulation of data, as well as being a vibrant standout colleague, people orientated with outstanding communication skills. You will be self motivated with a can do approach to work, able to understand complex information and enjoy finding creative solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Monitoring and reviewing outcomes clients receive from products that are closed to new business, in adherence with the Consumer Duty
- Provide technical support to various stakeholders including the Partnership, third-party administrators and internal teams across a range of business areas including product functionality, system changes, projections and other calculations.
- Ensure that the product maintenance of SJP products and services aligns with all relevant regulations and legislation.
- Provide support to other actuaries on the team on large projects, and lead on small and medium-sized projects across the business, providing actuarial expertise and skills. Example projects may include annual reviews of closed products, implementation of system enhancements and product governance following Consumer Duty requirements.
- Liaise and maintain relationships with teams across the business
- Provide figures and analysis to support business decisions.
- Ensure accuracy of projections, adherence with terms and conditions and product documentation.
- Provide guidance and support to more junior actuarial analysts and financial analysts.
- Carry out all activities with integrity and professionalism in line with our values and principles of treating our clients, Partners and shareholders fairly.
Special Requirements:
- Qualified or nearly qualified Actuary
- Strong knowledge of UK Financial Services marketplace
- Knowledge and experience of Consumer Duty will also hold a distinct advantage
