The work we do is important to the proper functioning of markets, the economy in general and support for thousands of people each year who are in financial difficulty.
Would you like to bring your project delivery talents somewhere that's big enough to be a challenge but small enough that you can really make a difference? If so, come and join us at the Insolvency Service as a Senior Project Manager. This is a great opportunity to make a demonstrable impact on our organisation, take ownership of end-to-end project delivery, and set yourself up for the next step in your career. You'll join our Transformation senior leadership team and play a pivotal role in shaping how we deliver change. If you share our vision, and you are ready to drive innovation and push boundaries, we want to hear from you. Join us, and together we will deliver transformational change.
Inclusive and diverse teams are important to us. We welcome and encourage applications from everyone, including groups underrepresented in our workforce. The Insolvency Service strives to ensure that the agency is a safe, inclusive and welcoming place for everybody to bring their true self to work and to help the agency to achieve its diversity objectives. We have 10 active employee network groups available to join or become an ally, these include, Carers Network, Disability & Health, FACES Network Group, Grass Roots, LGBT+, Mind Matters, No Limits, Part Time Workers, The Shed, and Women's Network Group.
We offer full-time, part-time, job share and flexible ways of working. We value capability, technical skills and experience and we place great emphasis on lifetime development to support our people. We encourage our employees to become more involved in areas they feel strongly about, whether it be for the benefit of the agency, though our Engagement network or in their own local communities via volunteering opportunities.
The Insolvency Service is a great place to work, learn and grow your career!

"A project can't be delivered by just one person. We need to build strong, flexible, professional and capable teams." - Nick Smallwood (Former Head of Government's Project Delivery Function)
We are looking for passionate project delivery professionals with demonstrable experience of successfully delivering collaborative change. We will want you to show both that you understand the range of methodologies and tools available to you and how you use your experience to decide which are appropriate to getting the job done.
You will have responsibility for the end-to-end delivery of either a single project or a small portfolio of project initiatives, leading a mixed team of civil servants, contractors, and service providers. Projects will encompass all areas of the business including people, finance, operations, technology and digital. You will relish being able to take ownership of varied and complex areas of work and getting the right balance of pace and control to deliver successful outcomes. The candidates we are looking for will show personal commitment to innovation and making a tangible difference to shaping delivery.
You will be a key part of our agency Project Delivery Community of Practice so you will have the opportunity to develop your strategic leadership skills and coach and support colleagues, alongside driving day-to-day delivery.
You will report directly to an Assistant Director of Transformation who in turn reports to the Change and Technology Services Director who is a key member of the agency's executive leadership team.
These roles equate to 'Project Manager 3' on the Project Delivery Capability Framework.

We want you to have a good work-life balance and want to support you in all that you do, so we offer a great benefits package including:
Your pension is a valuable part of your total reward package where the employer makes a significant contribution to the cost of your pension. Your contributions come out of your salary before any tax is taken. This means, if you pay tax, your take-home pay will not be reduced by the full amount of your contribution; and your pension will continue to provide valuable benefits for you and your family if you are too ill to continue to work or die before you retire. As part of the application process, you will be asked to complete a CV and a 1000-word Personal Statement. Further details around what this will entail are listed on the application form.
Your Personal Statement should be no more than 1000 words and should explain how you consider your personal skills, qualities and experience provide evidence of your suitability for the role, with particular reference to the essential criteria and our values within the person specification.
Should a large number of applications be received, an initial sift may be conducted using the Personal Statement. Candidates who pass the initial sift may be progressed to a full sift or progressed straight to interview.
We will test your experience as part of the application process, and if successful, you will be invited to a short interview where we will test your behaviour, experience and technical skills.
