The is an exciting role that covers a broad spectrum of environmental topics, requiring significant stakeholder engagement both internally with DIO, USVF, Industry Partners and external regulatory authorities such as the Environment Agency, Natural England, and Local Authorities. This is a brilliant opportunity to build your skills and develop hands on experience in the management and protection of Great Crested Newts, numerous bird species, bats and badgers. The role supports the RAF Commander including specialist project support for site investigations, remediation, and spill response. The wide-ranging delivery requirements include support to construction projects, facilities management, estate development proposals and safeguarding to ensure delivery of MoD and DIO environmental and sustainability policy. Essential
A relevant environmental degree and applicable post qualification employment or equivalent combination of skills and applicable experience.
The job holder will be able to demonstrate practitioner level competencies in a relevant career framework.
Associate level or higher membership of IEMA or other relevant professional body or actively pursuing membership.
Experience in a sustainability or environmental role.
Full Manual UK driving licence.
Desirable
Practitioner level or higher membership of IEMA or other relevant professional body.
Experience in environmental risk and compliance auditing or permit authorisation/issuing.

A Civil Service pension with an employer contribution of 28.97%.
Where business needs allow, some roles may be suitable for a combination of office and home-based working. This is a non-contractual arrangement where all office-based employees will be expected to spend a minimum of 60% of their working time in office, subject to capacity and any required workplace adjustments. Requirements to attend other locations for official business, or work in another MOD office, will also count towards this level of attendance. External recruits who join the MOD who are new to the Civil Service will be subject to a six-month probation period
