Location: Cirencester Office

Employment Type: Permanent

This person will ensure that the financial management systems of SJP run as efficiently and smoothly as possible with a particular focus on the overall design and implementation of the general ledger and financial reporting.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Communicate the SJP financial reporting vision and work with finance to deliver it.
  • Provide oversight across financial reporting ensuring consistency, efficiency, and transparency of data and processes.
  • Lead the design and detailed implementation of the general ledger across all SJP Group companies, ensuring adherence to group-wide design principles and controls.
  • Provide first line support on a range of financial reporting incidents.
  • Perform period and year-end routines and procedures.
  • Coordinate and assist development of small enhancement requests.
  • Coordinate and support agreed end-to-end testing across all Finance teams.
  • Formally assess new software releases for impact on financial reporting ERP functionality and processes.
  • Organise and deliver general ledger and financial reporting training to Finance users.
  • Maintain relevant documentation such as process diagrams, FAQ’s, user ‘how to’ guides and other training materials.

Who we’re looking for:

  • Experience of detailed use/implementation of financial reporting systems and ERP’s essential. Unit 4 Business World experience advantageous.
  • Finance background essential and accounting qualification (ACA/CIMA/ACCA) preferred, but not essential.
  • Proven experience of working within a multi-disciplinary finance system implementation or change programme essential.
  • Excellent partner management skills are required.
  • Excellent understanding of Finance processes and re-engineering advantageous.
  • Excellent organisational and people management skills.
  • Experience of leading and managing team members within Finance and across the business through high-profile projects to tight timelines is essential.
  • Robust project skills with ability to articulate and achieve ambitious milestones on high-profile and high-risk projects.
  • Skilled in using Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office, including Word and PowerPoint.
  • An inquisitive approach to problem solving, and an ability to work with, understand and distill several sources of information.
  • Proficient in distilling highly complex matters into clear and simple messages and communicating these plainly to different audiences.
