Are you ready to take your financial analysis skills to the next level? Do you have a passion for crunching numbers and making sense of sophisticated financial data? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you! We are seeking a versatile Financial Data Analyst to join our team. You will use your expertise to analyse financial data, identify trends, and provide insights that will help us make informed business decisions.

We're looking for someone who is a self-starter, a problem solver, and a critical thinker. You should have a strong understanding of financial analysis, data modelling, and statistical analysis, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

What you'll be doing:

  • Support processes within the business that derive information from financial data
  • Support the development of financial based processes/insights through data analysis and query building, and developing a deep understanding of the products and data systems within SJP
  • Assist with the investigation of unexpected financial results through in-depth data analysis
  • Ensure accurate operation of controls to safeguard the accuracy of financial outputs produced by the financial data team and compliance with relevant legislation, regulations and professional standards.

Who we're looking for:

  • An understanding and experience of SQL and other programming languages (e.g. Python, R etc.)
  • Intermediate computing skills, including Excel and Power BI. Other relevant computing systems are an advantage
  • An understanding of actuarial techniques and concepts would be beneficial
  • Strong data analysis skills, particularly effective with very large datasets
  • An ability to interpret system structure to understand the process and data flow
  • Able to understand regulatory and statutory requirements.

Special Requirements

 

  • This role would either suit an individual studying for an actuarial qualification/completed an actuarial degree, or someone with a statistical background would be advantageous
