Location: Cirencester or Bristol office with remote days

We have an exciting brand new opportunity for a Head of Communications (Operations & Technology),  where the main responsibility is to assist our Chief Operations & Technology Officer’s (COTO) directorate, tell its story around its 2025 strategy and beyond. Including communications relating to changes in digital, cyber, administration and technology.

The role holder is expected to identify all communication topics across the directorate and help recognise the most effective message and engagement approach across all our communication channels.

This role will be Instrumental In driving a consistent and audience centric approach to communication and engagement. You will also  build joined-up narratives across the area. You will get to design and influence the communication and key messages to a variety of audiences, to ensure they all receive relevant, targeted, and appropriate communications that support understanding and focus on priorities. Whilst we ensure we are consistent with the aims of 'making it easier to do business'.

You will be an expert listener and be able to extract vital points and embed those points in our story telling. You will be personable, adaptable and be confident when presenting and talking to senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the senior leaders within the COTO directorate, and their teams, to gain deep understanding of priorities and activities.
  • Translate this knowledge into compelling engagement with appropriate audiences in line with the corporate process & consistency in language and narrative
  • Define core narratives and themes that are relevant to, and resonate with, Partners and employees
  • Supporting Partners with Client messaging
  • Design and conduct regular feedback and reporting
  • Create and/or manage PowerPoint Presentations to allow the team to proactively communicate with stakeholders
  • Write and/or edit communications for the area and make recommendations for the optimal channel
  • Build a strong relationship with colleagues in the Corporate & Field Communication teams and wider area to ensure plans and direction align with their activity
  • Considering areas for thought leadership relating to the topics being discussed across the directorate
  • Ensure current Partner Consultation feedback and employee feedback (from various sources) is considered, always, when drafting communications.

Key Skills and Knowledge:

  • Professional knowledge and experience of planning targeted engagement and change adoption campaigns while working within the constraints of a corporate model, defining channel strategies for a range of audiences
  • Change communication practitioner certification such as PROSCI
  • Solid understanding of corporate and organisational communication
  • Awareness of design, development and management of communication channels
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
