An exciting opportunity has arisen for the right candidate to become the Information Manager at RAF Spadeadam. RAF Spadeadam is a small team with a large geographical footprint that provides graduated multi-domain replication of ground based adversary Integrated Air Defence Systems (IADS) to support UK and Allied training, testing and experimentation whenever and wherever required. As the Information Manager the right candidate will be leading the Station's regulatory requirement for knowledge and information management, ensuring good practice across the workforce so that personnel can maintain operational output.
This position is advertised at 37 hours per week.
You will be responsible to the Senior Information Owner for the information processes within RAF Spadeadam.
The Information Manager also acts as the Station Information Support Officer including administering MODNet official and secret.
You will also act as the Records Manager.
As the Digital Support Section Manger you will be the line manger for the Information Management Admin Officer and the Deputy Authorised Telecommunications Officer.
You will co-ordinate all ICT project activity across the Station.
The right candidate will have a background in the Digital or Knowledge and Information Management Profession and recent experience in Records Management. They will have good knowledge of Microsoft Applications including Sharepoint administration.
The Information Manager will be part of a small Digital Support Team, able to display sound leadership and be a good communicator with all, in order to interact with all sections of the Station. You will have a working knowledge of the Data Protection Act and Government Data Protection Regulations.

Where business needs allow, some roles may be suitable for a combination of office and home-based working. This is a non-contractual arrangement where all office-based employees will be expected to spend a minimum of 60% of their working time in office, subject to capacity and any required workplace adjustments. Requirements to attend other locations for official business, or work in another MOD office, will also count towards this level of attendance. The post does not offer relocation expenses.
External recruits who join the MOD who are new to the Civil Service will be subject to a six-month probation period.
