This entry level role is to support delivery of all accounting and financial aspects, to ensure effective and efficient controls are in place across the responsibilities assigned and to provide project support to on-going developments within the team in respect of accounting and regulatory requirements.
What you’ll be doing:
Ownership of key deliverables for the Investment Accounting team, supporting and deputising for the Head of Investment Accounting and active liaison with State Street (Fund Accountants) for any query resolution.
Complete and oversee the annual financial due diligence on all relevant investment advisors, consultants and Trustees; producing a summary report and dashboard for presentation to Investment Risk committee. This involves interaction with fund manager client relationship teams to obtain data and discussions are held with relevant FD/CFO to discuss financials to gain comfort where information is not provided.
Calculate and review all fund costs and charges including the SJP Annual Management Charges and other fees and payments including Investment Advisor Fees for submission to the trustee or for payment by SJP for Unit Linked funds.
Calculate and analyse fund distributions schedules, ensure payments in line with requirements, and support review of methodology.
Support the implementation work within the Investment Operations wider team in relation to technological enhancements including bot automation of certain processes to improve efficiencies.
Complete Property fund oversight of our property fund manager on a monthly basis and become the expert in respect of property fund accounting oversight.
Support review and requirements in relation of the SJP Unit Trust semi-annual report and annual accounts.
Provide support for the calculation process of cost disclosures such as Ongoing Charges Figures, Annual Management Charges, and Miscellaneous Cost calculations for inclusion in illustrations and other client facing literature.
Support Group Finance Accounting queries in respect of investment accounting and resolution support.
Who we’re looking for:
Ability to manipulate & analyse data and present back findings in a clear and concise manner
Good numerical skills
High levels of attention to detail
Interest in working towards an accountancy qualification or other related investment qualification, e.g. IMC or CFA).
Will require out of hours work at particular points in the year.
