Due to internal promotions, growth and new projects, we have a fantastic opportunity for a Pensions Advice Policy Consultant who also wants to expand their remit into supporting on Consumer Duty. The role is responsible for developing and maintaining all the St. James’s Place Advice Policy, interpreting business and legislative requirements across the UK business with particular focus on pensions. The successful person will also manage the impact of corporate projects on the Advice process, contributing as a department pensions expert to wider project deliverables as required. A key project that this role will support is the implementation of the new Consumer Duty regulations within SJP – this is a fantastic opportunity to join a fast-paced, new regulatory project.

Who we are looking for:

Someone who likes working with people and likes to support the people and teams around them, a self-starter who asks the right questions, and isn’t afraid to challenge or question. You will be personable, detail oriented with a drive to want to deliver excellent results. You will be able to think creatively to identify solutions and be happy working in a changing environment.

Manage the delivery of Advice workstreams which are impacted by corporate or legislative change; contributing as the department expert to multiple projects across the business and overseeing the work of more junior team members as needed. This includes supporting the implementation of Consumer Duty.

Design, deliver and maintain appropriate advice documentation and supporting Partnership materials as required by the business ensuring these meet SJP corporate standards; engaging with third party suppliers as well as other internal departments

Engage with and understand the impact of legislative changes; implementing Advice policy and procedural changes across the SJP Partnership and other areas of the business

Provide consultancy support and technical expertise on advice guidance related issues – both internally and externally across the SJP UK businesses.

Special Requirements

We ideally need the successful person to be as a minimum of CII Chartered status, however for the right person we will accept a Finance Diploma and/or part qualified applications.

Our people are encouraged to work in a flexible way that suits their lifestyle, so please ask the question and start a conversation!

Research tells us that applicants (especially those from underrepresented groups) can be put off from applying for a role if they do not meet all the criteria or have been on an extended career-break. If you think you would be a good match for this role and can demonstrate some transferable experience please apply, regardless of whether you tick every box.
