Main purpose of the role:

Are you an experienced Programme Manager looking for a great opportunity to join our Responsible Business (RB) team on a 12-month fixed term contract basis?

You’ll provide programme management, oversight and governance to a range of exciting company-wide projects and initiatives that support SJP’s Responsible Business Framework and approach, ensuring the business can achieve its responsible business objectives and outcomes. You’ll ensure all RB projects and initiatives sit coherently within a joined up ‘one company’ plan that aligns to the wider corporate strategy.

What you’ll be doing:

  • You’ll maintain a portfolio of projects across the Responsible Business department, Corporate Affairs & People division and wider organisation.
  • Coordinate resource across the department where necessary to ensure projects are successfully delivered within agreed budget and timescales.
  • Coordinate and maintain governance arrangements for programme delivery, producing necessary documentation for executive and board governance updates and approvals.
  • Deliver initiatives and projects, aligned to the RB framework, establishing clear milestones and deliverables which enable the business to monitor progress against the KPIs.
  • Maintain an effective stakeholder management approach across the programme, identifying all key collaborator roles and responsibilities through a RACI.
  • Build highly effective relationships with stakeholders across the business at all levels to ensure the successful delivery of programmes and projects.

Who we’re looking for:

  • Proven experience of developing, leading and managing Programmes and portfolios of projects, activities and initiatives.
  • Proficiency in project management software such as MS Project and MS Office.
  • Experience from within financial services or other regulated sectors is an advantage.
  • Highly skilled at using a wide range of techniques to motivate and empower teams of stakeholders and business leads across a range of projects and initiatives.
  • Ability to evaluate and anticipate situations using multiple sources of information.
  • Highly developed communication skills, with an excellent ability to influence and negotiate internally and regularly at higher levels of the organisation.
  • Strong understanding of the commercial business case for responsible business.
  • Broad understanding of concepts and principles relating to Responsible Business an advantage (Environmental, Social and Corporate Governance (ESG), Sustainability, Environment and Climate Change)
  • Strong analytical skills as well as the ability to evaluate based on the analysis of factual and qualitative information in complicated or novel situations.
  • Collaborative approach to problem solving with the ability to engage others and seek alternative perspectives.
  • Excellent use of judgement, demonstrating a measured and considered approach and when appropriate acting swiftly and decisively.
  • Occasional business travel including external conferences/events may be required.
