Key responsibilities:
Operating within an agreed reporting structure and PD standards, you will support the team in planning, designing, executing, monitoring and reporting on deliverables for CCUS. Including developing appropriate documentation e.g. detailed plans, risks and issues logs, reports and use them to effectively manage the project.
You will establish and maintain strong working relationships within key individuals across DESNZ, HMG and delivery partners where appropriate. Including facilitating and support meetings, advisory groups and other stakeholder meetings ensuring appropriate papers are developed and actions captured and carried out.
You will lead on planning and scheduling, monitoring activities against baseline milestones, highlighting inter-dependencies and provide effective reporting lines to the programme level plan.
You will play an active and constructive part of the team and the wider programme to support delivery of milestones and objectives and contribute to enabling effective change management functions where required.
You will support where required on enabling effective resource management and deployment during the upcoming Spending Review process to support workstreams.
You will support where required on the team RAID log and provide the links with the programme level logs and partner organisation plans and support strategic planning. You will also support managing risks and highlight emerging issues and suggested solutions.
You will lead on Knowledge and Information Management and document control, ensuring that naming conventions, etc are in place and adhered to.
Successful candidates will need to be adaptable and flexible in their approach to work as they could be asked to move to different work areas as and when required to help deliver key priority areas of the Market Transition Project.
Essential criteria:
We are seeking a highly motivated individual, comfortable working with and influencing a wide range of stakeholders, with big picture thinking as well as an effective communicator and collaborator.

A passion for project management and a proven track record of working with programme and policy leads to deliver successful outcomes.
Experience in working in a complex project environment and a strong understanding of risk management, planning and scheduling, reporting and governance, and stakeholder engagement.
Experience in project managing the collation of complex information commissions to tight deadlines.
The ability to understand, process and communicate management information to senior team members.
The ability to empower and motivate others in a dynamic environment and across organisational boundaries.
Highly developed interpersonal and influencing skills, with the credibility and ability to build excellent relationships with key stakeholders across organisational boundaries and evidence of a collaborative approach.
Interest in energy and climate sectors.
Desirable Skills:
Holding a Project Delivery qualification / membership, such as:
PRINCE2 Practitioner
Project Management Practitioner
APM Project Management Qualification
PMI Project Management Professional

The Department for Energy Security and Net Zero offers a competitive mix of benefits including:
Office attendance
The Department operates a discretionary hybrid working policy, which provides for a combination of working hours from your place of work and from your home in the UK. The current expectation for staff is to attend the office or non-home based location for 40-60% of the time over the accounting period.
