This structured development path is delivered alongside support from your line manager and the wider business.

The Apprenticeship Programme in the Development and Technical Consultancy Division:

The Development and Technical Consultancy Division is made up of 5 key areas - Mortgages, Later Life Planning, Asia Third Parties, SJP Protection Planning and Operations & Communications.

The Apprentice will rotate between each of these key areas assisting with various tasks such as liaising with external companies and Internal stakeholders, project management, business development or risk management. There would also be an opportunity to set a 'Business Improvement project' to showcase a recommendation for business change which could improve efficiency/reduce cost etc.

You will work towards a professional qualification such as Business Administration, Financial Planning or similar.

Within this business area there could be an opportunity to progress into a Junior Relationship Manager, Risk Management, Mortgage Support Adviser or Project Management Assistant role.

Key Responsibilities: 

- Relationship management meetings. This could involve shadowing, taking minutes and monitoring those actions to completion
- Monitoring the progress of queries from Partners which have been escalated to external providers from Relationship Managers
- Ensuring literature changes are reviewed and implemented in line with set deadlines
- Basic technical support for mortgage helpline e.g., licencing queries
- Assisting with the organisation of events, this can include finding venues, booking speakers, marketing, attending the event to provide support on the day (these will be away from head office)
- Liaising with external providers to obtain MI (management information) and due diligence documentation to meet set deadlines
- Supporting projects Involving a range of matters such as onboarding new providers, onboarding new products from existing providers, risk assessments, ongoing due diligence, Implementation of new systems

Requirements of the Job:

Job Knowledge:

There is no specific pre-existing job knowledge required for this role. Knowledge of Power BI would be desirable but is not essential and will be developed once in the role.

Transferable skills required:

- Working knowledge of MS Office Applications, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook and Excel would be beneficial
- Interpersonal skills
- Communication skills (verbal and written)
- Telephony Skills (desirable)

Problem Solving:

- Ability to demonstrate independent thinking to find a solution within a specified process
- High attention to detail, with the ability to spot trend, patterns, and errors. Also, decision-making with a combination of understanding the 'why' of a process and pragmatic thinking to get to the right solution for all parties. 

Nature and Scope of Impact:

The Development & Technical Consultancy division look after the majority of relationships between SJP and external providers. Our Partners use these providers to deliver holistic wealth management advice to their clients. The Apprentice will therefore have a direct Impact on the organisation due to assisting with managing risks and assisting providers to promote their services to Partners, which in turn enables them to provide a high-quality service to clients.

Interpersonal Skills:

Ability to communicate effectively (In writing, via telephone and both face to face and virtual meetings), to manage conflicts effectively and constructively, and to be able to demonstrate empathy.

Special Requirements:

This role is based in Cirencester - we operate a hybrid d working approach, with an expectation to attend the office on a regular basis, with Wednesday as a core office day. There will be occasional travel, up to every 2/3 months to other UK locations

Qualifications Required:   

Majority of our qualifications are a Level 3 or above therefore our minimum requirements are to have GCSEs in Maths and English Language Grade C (4) or above and a minimum of 2 A Levels or equivalent unless you have extenuating circumstances, therefore, please notify us of this during your application.
