As a servant leader and coach for an Agile Release Train (ART), your main responsibilities will be to facilitate the ART events and processes and assist the teams on the ART in delivering value.
Working with the Agile Coaches, the Release Train Engineer will educate Scrum teams in SAFe™, Agile, Scrum and Kanban values and principles.
What you’ll be doing:
Responsible for leading delivery teams on the Agile Release Train (ART) through development and delivery.
Facilitate all ART level ceremonies including but not limited to Program Increment (PI) Planning, System Demo, Inspect & Adapt and ART sync events.
Lead and optimise the flow of value through the Program Kanban.
Establish and communicate the calendar for Program Increments (PIs) and Iterations.
Coach leaders, teams, and Scrum Masters in Lean-Agile practices and approaches.
Facilitate PI Planning readiness by fostering a continuous exploration process that drives the synthesis of a Program vision, Program roadmap and Program backlog, through pre and post PI planning events.
Assist with economic decision-making by facilitating feature and capability estimation by teams and the roll-up to Epics, where necessary.
Encourage collaboration between teams on the ART.
Escalate and track impediments/obstacles.
Work with Product and Solution Management, Product Owners, and other stakeholders to help ensure strategy and execution alignment.
Drive continuous improvement via Inspect and Adapt workshops.
Produce and track key metrics at Program level (e. g. predictability and flow metrics).
Who we’re looking for:
You’ll bring significant Agile experience with a proven track record of delivering multiple products using Scrum or Kanban within a SAFe™ environment.
Proven experience working as a Senior Scrum Master.
Solid understanding and experience of waterfall methodologies.
Scrum Master certified.
SAFe™ Release Train Engineer certified or SAFe™ Program Consultant certified
Solid understanding of JIRA™ and Confluence™
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to engage and influence effectively.
Strong facilitation and presentation skills.
Effective time management and ability to prioritise to keep on track with deadlines.
A creative thinker, able to put forward new ideas and approaches.
