Location: Cirencester/Hybrid (min.2 days p/wk in office)
We’re seeking a senior Reward professional to provide expertise and to deliver on aspects of the total reward strategy. The role will have specific technical know-how and focus on share schemes for both SJP employees and SJP Partners (financial advisers).
Within this key senior role within our Reward dept, you act as a strategic partner to senior stakeholders across the business, building strong and effective relationships with those stakeholders. The role holder must understand the strategic direction of the business and how this impacts the reward framework, being able to anticipate, help to design, embed and evolve the reward framework.
What you’ll be doing:
Owner of the share scheme strategy, responsible for delivery of the SJP Shares proposition, including education and communication of Restricted Share Plans (RSP), Performance Share Plans (PSP), Deferred Bonus Scheme (DBS), Share Incentive Plan (SIP) and Save as You Earn (SAYE) to employees across the business; and also Partner and Associate Partner Share Plans that apply to the SJP Partnership.
Owner of the SJP Shares Portal (hosted by Global Shares) including responsibility for overseeing maintenance and improvements to ensure a great employee experience using this platform.
Responsible for preparing financial modelling of the costs of SJP Share Plans and articulate costings and proposals to senior stakeholders and in Executive Board papers for review, consideration, and approval.
Own senior hire activity from a reward perspective, including share or bonus buyouts.
Own senior pay and benchmarking and remuneration review activity, including Director role evaluations and liaising with the Head of People Regulatory on Material Risk Taker (MRT) or Control Function approvals; and provision of data to RemCo.
Responsibility for the provision of statutory reward data for the CEO Pay Ratio and Directors Emoluments for the Annual Report & Accounts.
You’ll develop & deliver aspects of SJP’s Total Reward approach and offering (such as pay & grading management, benchmarking & divisional reward budgets), including ownership of specific reward projects (e.g. new share schemes) and liaising and coordinating with various departments across SJP to ensure timely delivery.
Supporting with the communication of aspects of the total reward strategy, particularly relating to shares and pay, to drive engagement and link to the SJP Cultural & Behavioral framework and to drive SJP’s performance culture.
Keep up to date with reward legislation and market trends to ensure SJP is compliant and competitive in respect to share schemes and statutory reward reporting.
Who we’re looking for:
Reward expertise is an essential skill and the role holder will have in-depth technical expertise and knowledge in:
Extensive experience in share scheme strategy.
Subject matter technical expert in employee share schemes (RSP, PSP, DBS, SIP & SAYE), SJP Partner share schemes and senior level benchmarking, hire activity and regulatory reward reporting & the ‘go to’ person for senior stakeholders on these topics.
The theory behind what we do in Reward, with expert technical know-how regarding share schemes, remuneration, senior pay and grading management.
Key reward practices and processes, relating to bonus schemes, pay management and grading, benchmarking.
Knowledge of reward platforms, particularly shares platforms.
Knowledge of best methods for communication of reward, particularly shares and remuneration.
Comprehensive knowledge of Reward & HR Law, Tax and Payroll practices.
HR system knowledge (BWO-Agresso desirable), Share Scheme platforms and Microsoft Office knowledge (excellent Excel skills).
Excellent data accuracy, numerical and advanced analysis skills.
Deep understanding the impact of reward projects and framework on other areas of the business.
Strong relationship management skills with the ability to communicate, influence and guide senior stakeholders and external parties (e.g. Global Shares, Willis Towers Watson, Xpert HR, PWC).
High level of communication skills with discretion, sensitivity and confidentiality upheld throughout.
In addition, you’ll work with Senior Stakeholders and provide data, prepare Executive Board and Remuneration Committee papers and obtain sign off from a Reward perspective, as well as being the conduit between Head of People Regulatory, Head of Reward and Company Secretariat on reward matters.
