Be part of the fight for fair, transparent energy markets. Ofgem is looking for a Wholesale Analyst to join us and support critical analysis that keeps us at the forefront of wholesale gas and electricity market intelligence.

Ofgem is Great Britain's independent energy regulator. We're at the forefront of change across the energy sector, driving toward Net Zero whilst protecting energy consumers - especially vulnerable people.

We're offering a full-time, permanent position with the opportunity to shape the way we monitor and understand the energy wholesale markets. This is a high-impact role where your insights will feed directly into senior decision-making during a time of rapid industry transformation. You'll work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, using your analytical skills to inform policy development and responses to market events.

This is a unique opportunity to take a lead role in identifying trends, interpreting key market data and delivering trusted, real-time intelligence. You'll contribute to our emergency preparedness and support wider teams with analysis that informs key regulatory decisions across the organisation.

We're looking for someone with excellent analytical skills (interpreting both qualitative and quantitative data), sound judgement, and a talent for translating complex data into clear, concise briefings. You'll need to be confident managing multiple stakeholders, working independently, and communicating effectively with a wide range of internal and external partners. You will have good excel skills, and it is desirable that you will have (or develop) the ability to handle large data using PowerBI, SQL and Python.

At Ofgem, you'll be part of an inclusive, forward-thinking team that values curiosity, precision, and collaboration. We support flexible and hybrid working, offer a competitive benefits package, and provide an environment where your work directly supports public value and the UK's energy transition.

We have a critical purpose to deliver wholesale market insights that drive better outcomes for consumers and enable a secure, low-carbon energy system.
