Our Company's Commitment and Culture

BBC Values

We have established a set of values for everyone working at the BBC. They represent the expectations we have for ourselves and each other, they guide our day-to-day decisions and the way we behave.

Our values are:
  • Audiences are at the heart of everything we do.
  • Creativity is the lifeblood of our organisation
  • Trust is the foundation of the BBC - we're independent, impartial and truthful.
  • We Respect each other - we're kind, and we champion inclusivity.
  • We are Accountable and deliver work of the highest quality.
  • We are One BBC - we collaborate, learn and grow together.

What you can expect from the BBC

  • Policies and practices that match our inclusive ambitions and flexible working options to suit your needs and your well-being.
  • Freedom to bring your best authentic self to work and confidence that you can speak up and your unique voice is heard and valued.
  • An open BBC that reflects and celebrates the diversity of the audiences we serve throughout the organisation.
  • Be part of supporting and delivering ground-breaking content and services for all our audiences.
  • An inspiring environment where creativity flourishes and the next big idea can come from anyone.
  • Be part of one of the world's best-known organisations where impartiality and trust are fundamental to trust.
  • Ways of working where generosity, positive contributions and mutual support are key.

BBC Extend Scheme

BBC Extend is the BBC’s positive action employment programme for people who are deaf, disabled, or neurodivergent.

Whilst the BBC welcomes applications from disabled people for any of its advertised roles, and we encourage disabled people to apply for any roles, BBC Extend ringfences roles that only people defined as disabled by the Equality Act (2010) can apply for.

We recognise that disabled people are underrepresented in our workforce and our goal is to create more opportunities for disabled people at the BBC.

You can find our BBC Extend vacancies on Patchwork Hub.
