How to edit your job application
Having a strong application is all about standing out. One of the easiest ways to do this is to make sure your CV/resume is up to date and tailored to each job you’re applying to.
To help you do just that, Patchwork Hub allows you to upload several CVs/resumes to your account. This way, when you identify a job you would like to apply for, all you need to do is simply select the CV/resume you want to send.
Top tips for CV/resume success
Layout
-
Make sure your application is laid out clearly.
-
Put the key information at the top. Start with the thing you think employers would most like to see.
-
Your design should be sleek, clear and coherent - there’s no one-size-fits-all, so don’t be afraid to experiment!
Content
-
Make the most of the job description provided. What exactly are they looking for?
-
Pull out any key skills or previous experiences you think are relevant and tailor your application to make sure they shine through.
-
Be selective! Your application does not need to include everything you’ve ever done. In fact, having a clear and concise application is nearly always stronger than a lengthy submission.
Accuracy
-
Read over your final application to check it’s clear and concise.
-
Run a spelling and grammar check to make sure your application is typo-free.
-
It might be helpful to have someone else check over it too. Sometimes a fresh perspective makes all the difference!

How do I edit my CVs/resumes?
You can edit your uploaded CVs/resumes by logging into your Patchwork Hub account. Please note that these changes will not be visible on applications that have already been submitted.
Can I edit an application that has already been submitted?
Applications submitted through Patchwork Hub are sent straight to the employer. Unless the employer specifically provides the option to alter applications, Patchwork Hub is not able to allow users to edit applications that have already been submitted.
Because of this, it’s important to check your application thoroughly before submitting it to the employer.
