What are screening questions and how can I add them?

All candidates who use Patchwork Hub can be asked to answer screening questions when they apply to your job through the platform.

When writing the job post, you have the option to add any screening questions you wish. This is the first stage in the recruitment process and so most employers keep these questions very minimal if they include them, asking only essential questions to ensure they do not deter potential applicants who would be a good fit.

Some examples of common screening questions are:

  • Are you over 18 years old?

  • Do you have the right to work in the UK?

You can add as many screening questions as you like in this section of your job post. However, you will be able to speak to the candidates at later stages in the recruitment process. So please make sure you only ask essential and appropriate questions.

To add screening questions, simply enter them into the ‘Add Screening Questions’ section when you write the job post.

Please note: If you choose to send applicants to your own URL to apply, rather than applying on the Patchwork Hub site, they will not be asked to answer any questions through our platform.
