We are looking for a friendly, well-organised and adaptable Administrative Assistant Receptionist to join our supportive and welcoming team of dedicated military and civilian healthcare professionals and Administrative staff working at Queen Elizabeth Memorial Health Centre (QEMHC).  

Job description

As the successful candidate, you will be working as a member of Medical Treatment Facility (MTF), which provides a comprehensive, efficient and effective service in accordance with Ministry of defence (MoD) and DPHC policies and procedures.

As the Administrative Assistant Receptionist, you will have a major impact in promoting a positive image of the Medical Facility to patients and other users.

Person specification

Main responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:

  • Maintaining patient and staff confidentiality in accordance with Patient Confidentiality and Staff Confidentiality Protocols. To sign a copy of the former which lists Caldicott Principles; this copy is to be held by the Practice Manager (PM)
  • Receptionist duties – First point of contact with patients and other Medical Treatment Facility (MTF) users, booking appointments, answering telephones and face to face queries.
  • Supporting GPs/ANP (General Practitioners / Advanced Nursing Practitioners) in the process of electronic referrals (e-referrals), following local protocol.
  • Administration support to the clinical staff including the use of Microsoft office, assisting with general typing duties.
