Job description

As a member of DSA Digital working to the Deputy Information Manager, you will be a key person responsible for providing day to day Information and IT management & support services to the DSA’s user community. A customer-facing role as one of the initial points of contact for staff interacting with the team.

You will engage with a wide range of civilian and military collaborators both inside and outside the DSA, so the position therefore requires a high standard of communication, problem solving, technical knowledge and skills, as well as being flexible & pragmatic.

The post holder will be working in a fast-paced environment and must be able to manage priority demands from multiple stakeholders.

Full training will be provided to develop and improve the skills and knowledge required for the position, as well as providing the opportunity to move into other technical areas like app development if so desired.

Person specification

The successful applicant will

  • Have a natural interest in technology and problem solving
  • Have experience in a customer facing role and working with a team
  • Be organised and able to take ownership of their own workload and prioritising to meet goals
  • Be flexible and pragmatic in their approach to problems and customer requirements
  • Able to work independently when needed

The Information Support Officer (ISO) role is responsible for

  • Providing technical support for hardware assets & the suite of M365 software products
  • Being a first point of contact for end users with Knowledge and Information Management issues
  • General SharePoint administration
  • Contributing to the DSA Information and Asset Management Policy and improving local processes to improve efficiency
  • Providing colleagues with guidance on MOD and the local DSA policy and processes
  • Providing basic training and upskilling of DSA staff as required
  • Processing Catalogue requests

Desirable Skills

  • Knowledge of MOD Information Management Policy
  • Experience with the M365 suite of applications particularly Apps, Automate and BI
