Job Description

We’re recruiting for Senior Content Designers here at Justice Digital, to be part of our warm and collaborative user-centred design community:

  • Hale team - the ‘Hale’ WordPress multisite platform enables teams across MoJ and its agencies to build secure, accessible and user-centred websites. We work closely with the teams and organisations building new websites on Hale to help them better understand their users and improve the overall experience for people using their site.
  • MoJ Forms team - the MoJ Forms platform enables people across MoJ to publish digital forms quickly and easily. We provide guidance to people building new forms on the platform on how to use different features and best practice for form design.
  • Accredited Programmes team - the Refer and Monitor service enables HMPPS staff to make and manage referrals to interventions that can help people stop reoffending. Within this service, the Accredited Programmes team focus on the requirements for this type of intervention, making it easier to find programme information, match people to suitable programmes, make referrals, manage waiting lists, then assess impact. And we’re working to join this service up with others available to prison and probation staff, to improve data sharing and end-to-end journeys.
  • Civil Apply team - the Apply for Civil Legal Aid service enables lawyers or solicitors to apply for legal aid on behalf of their clients. The team works closely with users to improve and simplify the service, and with other government agencies to enable better data sharing across departments. They also work with colleagues from the Legal Aid Agency to identify new features that would allow more applications to come through the service and help us move away from legacy solutions.

You will be responsible for developing simple, clear digital services and publishing platforms that help citizens and staff who interact with the justice system. You will own the content and its quality throughout a user’s journey, understanding how that journey maps to business processes, using evidence, data and research to back up your decisions. You will be expected to share knowledge, line manage and mentor others and actively participate in our community spaces, as well as cross-government content groups and activities.
