This post attracts a non-pensionable Market Pay Supplement of £10,000 pro-rata, per annum, (this is in addition to basic salary).
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Systems Manager to lead our Improvement and Data Quality team and be responsible for delivering a professional and expert systems and support service in order to optimise decision making and financial, supply chain and workforce management across UKHSA through the continual service improvement of our Oracle Cloud applications, referred to as Money and People Services, (MaPS).
The Senior Systems Manager Improvement and Data Quality role will be responsible for the delivery of continual service improvement. This will be achieved by engaging with relevant stakeholders to identify new and emerging business requirements and managing the overall MaPS Product Roadmap, which includes horizon scanning, (e.g. Oracle quarterly patch updates) to identify emerging opportunities.
The postholder will be responsible for overseeing the Service Transition process which will ultimately assure that both our user community and support functions are equipped with the relevant training and communications to support and use the MaPS system.
They will ensure data quality and integrity across the system by monitoring data quality issues, business compliance of MaPS usage and business process performance against key SLAs. The postholder will use this information to provide insights to relevant business groups so they are able to address data quality, business compliance and/or process performance issues within their own teams and put action plans in place.
Working with other staff from the Finance and Corporate Services, Commercial and People groups, the post holder/s will ensure that clear customer focus, innovation and best practice are intrinsic to the continual improvements of the MaPS system to support the efficient operation of UKHSA.

The UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) operates a hybrid working model where business needs allow. This provides us with greater flexibility about how and where we work, to get the best from our workforce. As a hybrid worker, you will be expected to spend a minimum of 60% of your contractual working hours (approximately 3 days a week pro rata, (averaged over a month) working at one of UKHSA's locations (Birmingham, Leeds, Liverpool, and London). For certain roles, some additional flexibility may be possible, which will be agreed upon with the hiring manager based on individual requirements and business needs.
*Please be aware that this role can only be worked from within the UK and not overseas. Relocation expenses are not available.

Eligibility Criteria

Security clearance level requirement
Successful candidates must pass a disclosure and barring security check. Successful candidates must meet the security requirements before they can be appointed. The level of security needed is Basic Personnel Security Standard. People working with government assets must complete Basic Personnel Security Standard checks.
For posts on UKHSA Civil Service terms and conditions, new entrants to the Civil Service are expected to start on the minimum of the pay band. For existing Civil Servants and roles advertised across government, the rules of transfer apply, i.e., level transfers move on current salary or the pay range minimum, transfers on promotion move to new pay range minimum or receive a 10% increase. Either case is determined by whichever is the highest.
