Job Description

The job holder will support the Leadership, Talent & Capability team by assisting in the application of Occupational Psychology knowledge, theory and practice. This will include assisting in the design and evaluation of selection and assessment materials and processes for internal staff promotion accreditation, or placement onto fast-track or leadership programmes. Work must be compliant with the Civil Service Recruitment Principles and Occupational Psychology professional standards, (BPS & HCPC) and enable HMPPS and MoJ to select and develop staff in a cost effective and efficient manner.
The job holder will contribute to the development and delivery of psychological research and continuous improvement activities within the Directorate. 

Responsibilities

•    Support the design, development and evaluation of assessment solutions for internal staff promotional assessments, and placement onto fast-track or leadership programmes.
•    Conduct research and job analysis activities as directed to ensure that the design of all selection processes are fit for purpose and in line with ‘best practice’ testing standards. 
•    Carry out complex statistical analysis and interrogation of data to quality assure assessment outcomes to ensure they are consistent, reliable, valid, and report on adverse impact to ensure processes and outcomes are legally defensible.
•    Support the design and delivery of comprehensive training packages to train assessors, interviewers and role players.
•    Support the Leadership, Talent & Capability team and MoJ to provide Occupational Psychology guidance and/or research as required. When working towards the Qualification in Occupational Psychology (Stage 2) this will include working across all core areas in occupational psychology and partnering with key stakeholders.
•    To maintain accurate, secure and confidential results databases.  
•    To support the data/statistical analysis of all assessment results and the production of technical assessment and comprehensive candidate feedback reports.   
•    To support the design, implementation and delivery of best practice policy for supporting and making reasonable adjustments for candidates with disabilities through assessments. 
•    May include line management responsibility

You will report to: Head of Promotional Assessment, Leadership Talent & Capability

Essential knowledge, experience and skills 

Experience of delivering training and/or presentations

Qualifications:

Masters in Occupational Psychology (or equivalent) conferring BPS accreditation
