An exciting number conscious role in the Charity Sector
This is a full-time role in the Wandsworth office of a well-established charity that would really suit someone who wants to start or build their career in the Charity sector in a client-supporting financially aware role.
Ruils is a charity that supports disabled adults, and people with long-term health and or mental health conditions to live independently, be part of their community and live life to the full. They provide information, advice, practical support, befriending and accessible activities to their clients and families. Ruils enable individuals to have choice and control over the way in which they get their support.
We run the Direct Payment support service in Richmond and Wandsworth Boroughs. This enables disabled people to employ their own care staff.
Purpose of Post
To enable this, you will administer and manage budgets and accounts on behalf of Direct Payment recipients, working alongside DP teams at Ruils and within the Council.
The post holder will need an eye for detail, good communication skills and experience of managing money.
What you might be doing now:
- You might be working for or volunteering in a similar charity or role.
- You may be a highly numerate graduate looking to get into the charity sector.
- You may be working in social care for a Borough or district council in a financial or payroll-related function
- You may be working in a payroll or financial function in another sector but be drawn to working in the charity sector
- Or you may have the skills we need from some other combination of work and volunteering.
Main Duties include:
This service takes the stress of administering payments away from clients enabling them to enjoy the benefits of Direct Payments without having to worry about paying bills and managing money.
To deliver an efficient and accurate managed account service which includes:
- Checking and logging invoices on a spreadsheet each week,
- Prioritising and making payments depending on payment terms,
- Compiling and sending out a monthly statement to the client,
- Recording client information on our database,
- Dealing with queries from providers, clients and social services,
- Checking accounts on a regular basis to ensure that people are using their Direct Payment funds appropriately and making the relevant financial contributions and flagging any issues to the team or social services when they arise.
