This person will assist with the preparation and assessment of new lending proposals for approval, in support of the provision of loans to the SJP Partnership. The role holder will support with insight and analysis of each borrower’s financial position including analysing historic accounts, identifying trends in revenue/costs as well as checking financial forecasts and projections. This person will need confident interpersonal skills as they will have regular contact with SJP Partners in relation to short term loans they may have undertaken, contractual loans and re-financing of existing loans.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Assess affordability of Partner loan applications for approval by Lending Managers.
  • Analyse Business Sale & Purchase performance ahead of arranging settlement of future stage payments.
  • Preparation/issue of lending deeds and documents as required ensuring compliance with FCA, CCA and Companies House records.
  • Work with external lenders to minimise use of SJP funds used in bridging transactions in line with targets.
  • Liaise with the SJP Partnership at all levels to aid conversations around lending.

Who we’re looking for:

  • Comfortable with MS Office with knowledge of Excel.
  • Analytical skills and comfortable with manipulation of data in Excel.
  • Disciplined time management qualities to deliver to deadlines and manage internal stakeholders.
  • Self-motivated, methodical and able to work using own initiative.
  • Able to demonstrate attention to detail and capable of self-review.
  • Understanding of the different trading entities used by the SJP Partnership and their tax structures.
  • Able to meticulously apply SJP lending principles to enable efficient and successful analysis of loan applications but underwriting function.
  • Able to multi-task, managing lending requests against targets.
  • Competent and professional – able to communicate with colleagues at all levels and SJP Partners.
